Randolph Street - Deep in the heart of Chicago, between Michigan Ave and Lakeshore Drive,
lies the West end of the South Shore Railroad. There are three platforms serving five tracks at
this station, which is just East of the Metra Electric terminus at Randolph St.

Van Buren Street - The Metra Electric platform at Van Buren Street, shared with the South
Shore. There are two platforms serving three tracks at this station. The furthest platform,
built into the side wall, is for outbound trains leaving downtown - the other platform is for
arrivals from inbound trains.
Roosevelt Road - Twin central platforms, separated by a yard entrance. One platform for
inbound, one for outbound trains.

Roosevelt Road Yard (Metra) - This is the daytime yard for rush hour trains for METRA.
South Shore trains do not use this yard but do pass it about two miles South of Randolph
Street. METRA trains use this yard to park during the day.
23rd Street - McCormick Place - One central platform for 'local' trains.

METRA Electric Train 804 aproaching 27th Street - South Shore trains share the road
with METRA Double Deckers! (Actually METRA owns the road, and not just because their cars
are bigger.)
59th Street and 63rd Street - Twin central platforms, one platform for inbound,
one for outbound trains. The center two tracks are generally used for the South Chicago Branch
of the METRA Electric Line.
METRA Electric generally runs express trains on the outside tracks, and local trains on the
inner tracks, with the western pair being outbound and the eastern pair being inbound. Between
67th Street and Kensington, METRA Electric runs inbound express trains on both express tracks.
A point of interest - the 67th Street station is used only as a transfer station between South
Chicago METRA Electric trains and the mainline METRA Electric trains.
