This is the first station where passengers on Eastbound trains from Chicago are permitted to disembark, and the last station to board Westbound trains to Chicago. This station was upgraded to high level platforms and gauntlet tracks in 2006. |

| Hammond - This station was upgraded to high level platforms and gauntlet tracks in 1998. At gauntlet track stations the platforms the tracks diverge into an overlapping arrangement that allows passenger trains to pass close to the platform for loading and freight trains to pass further away.
