The north side of a pair of motor units are seen here just west of Michigan City. Note that there is one less window per car,
the space behind the 'missing' window is where the restroom is located.

Cars 31 to 38 were purchased by the RTA (METRA). They have the RTA Logo on them in place of the NICTD logo, plus the info plate.
NICTD is in the process of repainting the stripes on the cars.

Stepping in. At most stations boarding requires using steps located at the ends of the car. (Wheelchairs are lifted in to the
center doors.) There is a fold down plate that covers the steps before the door closes, and allows access at high platform stations.
