Miller Station |
The station at Miller on the east side of Gary has grown from being a simple flag stop to being a major station on the South Shore line. A station building with a small enclosed shelter area was built in 1998 along the single track line. The building was replaced in 2024 by a modern station building serving a new double track high platform station with gauntlets. A new daytime passenger car storage yard is available to the east.
A connection track is available at the station for freight trains connecting between the South Shore and the CSX freight line in Miller. |

1998 Flashback (Building demolished 2022)

This modern structure was on the east end of Gary. The building featured a waiting area with clear view of the trains. A single low level platform was available.
Parking was available trackside and across the street. This station served as a regular stop for South Shore trains.
Miller is also a freight interchange point between the South Shore and the CSX Toledo Line.
A siding just east of the station was used for the temporary storage of engines.
